Schisandra Chinesis – The Healing Properties Of The Herb Revealed (Part 1)

Schisandra is a bush or liana with a woody stem 2 centimeters thick and 8-15 centimeters long. Blossoms are white or rosy and can be seen in May and June. Fruit is an aggregate fruit consisting of 10-50 black red fruits with one or two seeds shaped like kidney. The fruits grow ripe in September and October. Schisandra is usually refereed to as five flavor berry.

Schisandra is a herb native to the Far East, Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. It is widely cultivated in the Far East and grown all over the world. You should collect the fruits when they are ripe before frost. Simply cut the aggregate fruit and dry it in a well ventilated drying camera at a temperature between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius. You should gradually increase the temperature in the camera, but avoid exceeding 60 degrees Celsius.

Schisandra fruits with seeds contain lignans, schisandrin, gomisin, essential oil, phytosterols, vitamin C, vitamin E, flavonoids, tannins, organic acids, sugars, micro elements and other biologically active substances.

The herb has stimulant and tonic qualities. If you wish to increase you physical and mental capacity, you should use schisandra remedies for 20-30 days on a regular basis.

The healing effect of the herb mainly depends upon schisandrins. These substances are responsible for the stimulant and tonic action of the plant. Schisandra remedies are proven to protect liver parenchymal cells. When using these remedies, hepatitis patients achieve great therapy results with no undesirable side effects.
